The following are the projects and exercises for the quarter class.
Portfolio Rubric (100 points)
1) Name in block letters - 10

Line Exercises:
1) Bottle Outlines- 25 points
Students draw only the outlines of 8 different bottles- should be able to tell from the outline which bottle is which
2) Blind Contour Drawing- 25 points
Students draw all the details of an object using hand eye coordination, they may not look at their paper only the object they are drawing, may not pick up their pencil or erase
3) Contour Drawing of Still Life- 50 points
Students draw the still life in the middle of the room using only one continuous line making sure they have all the details of all the objects without lifting up their pen
4) Line Drawing of Still Life- 50 points
Students draw the still life in the middle of the room using only line, this time they may pick up their pen but they may not erase
Students draw only the outlines of 8 different bottles- should be able to tell from the outline which bottle is which

One Point Perspective Exercise (25 points)
Students will draw 10 boxes in one-point perspective, three will be done as a class; the rest are done on their own. All boxes must relate back to one vanishing point on one horizon line.
Value Scale (25 points)
Students will create a 10-step value scale using ebony pencil.
4 Major forms shading exercise (25 points)
Students will shade the four major forms from different light sources.
Texture Exercise (25 points)
Students will use collected textures to create a rubbing using at least 25 different textures.
